About the brand
CEAE was formed by 3 fashion industry professionals, Design, Development & Sourcing, with a huge passion to look at making the fashion industry more sustainable. We initially came across a packaging solution that used post consumer waste from the fashion industry, and a concept was developed. We found the only GRS certified, 100% recycled cotton paper making factory in the world. Our core purpose was to join hands with the most sustainable, eco-friendly, ethical factories in India, to produce the highest quality products. Why India? Through our garment background and travels, we found India, was the country doing the most recycling. They were years ahead of other countries taking in and developing products from pre and post consumer waste. We need to realise that development is more economic, and sustainable development is a collective responsibilty. India does seem to take the lead on this. 26 million tons of textile wastes go into land fill every year, which emits a massive amount of methane, directly contributing to global warming. Up to 6 billion trees are cut down every year to make paper, one fifth are used for packaging. One of the fundamental problems we have in the fashion industry is how to use garment waste, that is currently getting generated and disposed with zero use. The other problem is plastic PET bottles, how can we contribute in reducing the problem of waste of these. Worldwide an average of over 13,000 pieces of plastic are dumped into the ocean every day. About 1000,000 marine creatures a year die from plastic waste. PET bottles are one of the most critical polluters, we looked at, how to tackle this, and work within the fashion industry. We can’t remove plastics, so lets reuse plastic. At CEAE we want to offer a great range of sustainable products, not only for the fashion industry, our roots are our goal, to start with...
